Phillip Phillips!

So, at Harding, they bring one or two musicians to campus each semester.
I've been to a Jason Mraz and Allison Krauss concert since I've been here.
Well, in chapel one day, the CAB activties director announced in chapel that PHILLIP PHILLIPS was coming to Harding!!!
I flipped out! In the middle of chapel.
The guy stepped up to the podium and held his iPhone up the the mic and "Home" by Phillip Phillips started playing.
I was thinking "No way. Harding couldn't possibly have actually gotten someone COOL."
But au contraur, they did.
When it was announced that Phillip Phillips was coming to Harding on February 4th, I gasped really loud and went "Shut up! No way!" Yeah, I got a couple looks from the people sitting around me. Whatever.

I waited in line the day tickets came on sale (I was 4th in line, by the way).
The day before the concert, I saw on twitter that people had been able to meet Phillip Phillips because they ran into him at the Heritage (the hotel Harding has next to the student center). So, me being the fan girl non-stalker I am, I waited in the Heritage all day the next day (when I didn't have class of course), just so I could maybe get a glimpse of him. But, I didn't see him once! I was so sad! (Apparently they assumed girls would be doing that, so they had him hiding in another building all day...)

ANYWHO, the concert was amazing!! His set was great and his band members are really talented. Phillip Phillips would talk to us in between each song, which I thought was awesome. It was general admission, but we all had seats to sit in. After the opening band, everyone rushed from their seats to the stage and so I did the same. Aside from this dumb girl shoving her phone past my shoulder into my face, I didn't mind standing for 2 hours.

I didn't want to miss a last chance to meet him, so after the concert, some friends and I went behind stage where his tour bus was to see if we could him. A bunch of other people had the same thought, but my friends and I were able to get close to the door where Phillip Phillips would be exiting. His road manager came out and said that Phillip Phillips would be coming out to sign autographs, but no photos so it'd go by faster.

So, I GOT TO MEET PHILLIP PHILLIPS!!! It was soooo awesome. Definitely a bucket list item (meet a celebrity). He asked me how I was doing and if I enjoyed the show. I said that it's the best concert I've ever been to and that my parents' and I watched him on American Idol and we voted for him. He said "Really? Thank you so much! I really appreciate it." He autographed my ticket stub, but I wanted a picture with him, so I went back in line and asked him to sign my phone and then my friend took a picture of me with him! All in all, it was a great night and I'm so glad I got to go! Even if he thought I was a silly fan girl, but whatever. I'll never see him again!

Me and my friend, Emily, with the poster's we made!

Me and Sierra!

Me and Carley!
