Leaving On A Jet Plane

The night before I left was CRAZY busy and full of emotions.
I was able to hang out with my best friend, Halley, the night before I left.
But I still had to pack a lot of stuff, so I was busy doing that while she was there.
I got about 2 hours of sleep before I had to wake up again to get ready to leave for the airport.
My parents, my sister, Courtny, and her friend, Jessica, came along, as well as my sister's precious dog, Marley!

I got to the airport and checked in without any problems.
Then came the moment I had been dreading ALL summer.
Saying good-bye to my parents'.

I left about 10 days before they left to spend basically forever in China.
I won't be able to see them until next July. =(
It was really emotional, but I stayed strong and didn't cry.

I said about 20 goodbyes, gave lots of hugs, and then went through airport security and on to Little Rock, Arkansas.

Here are some pictures of me and my parents' before I left.

Till next time!

Nerd Confession.

Soooooo, I realized today that I am a TOTAL nerd!
I was shopping at Target and almost immediately made a bee-line for the office supplies.
Yes, I said office supplies.

I've always been one of those closet nerds that secretly LOVES school because the start of a new school year means a new backpack, pencils, pens, lined paper (college ruled, duh), etc.

I needed a student planner for school and my work schedule, so that's what I was looking for. I found a super cute planner! It's pink and black (obviously these are my favorite colors) and has a cute floral design on it!
Super cute right? I've already fallen in love with it. And written everything I possibly can in it. I love it.

(If you want one, it's at Target for $7.99)

I can't WAIT for school to start!!

Talk later!

Puppies!!

My sister's chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund mix) had puppies Sunday night! She went into labor around 9:30pm and had her first puppy around 11pm. By 5am Monday morning, she had 6 puppies. Unfortunately, one didn't make it =( It was a little girl and she was a stillborn. It makes me really sad =(

The runt is worrying me a lot because she still hasn't latched on to mama to eat. So, we've been bottle feeding her every hour. My sister's friend has been waking up every hour to feed her at night. She is a rockstar!!

Here are a TON of pictures of the puppies. I'm SUCH a PROUD aunt (to say the least). =)
First puppy!

Puppy 1 and 2! The 3rd one looks just like the brown dapple. But she unfortunately passed away. =(

4 puppies!

5th puppy! The pup has a little black spot on their tail.

5th pup again!

This pup looks like a little cow!

The runt! She has a heart shaped spot!!!!

I call her "little one"
The one on the left is the little pup that my sister is going to keep. His name is Rio! The little one on the right is "Mini Solomon" because he looks like our dog, Solomon.

After I bottle-fed her. She fell asleep =)

Got milk?

Mama with her puppies!

She's been such a good mama!

Trying to keep each other warm.

They're SO cute!

I want to keep all of them!

Puppy pile!

Such cuties!

The proud daddy, Marley!

And here's a video of the puppies moving around!

Till next time!

Decorating!

I'm super excited to move into my new house! I'm sharing a two-bedroom, one bathroom with my new roommate, Katie! She posted an ad on Harding's classified section and I replied and got the spot! She has decorated the whole place (aside from my room, of course) and it looks so darn cute.

I decided to look for a mattress since I won't be living in the dorms anymore. Then I got to thinking that this new bed needs new bedding! I found a really awesome deal on Walmart.com where it's one of those bed-in-a-bag deals, PLUS it comes with matching curtains!

I also found a FREE (my favorite four letter word) twin headboard and bed frame. I plan on spray painting the headboard black to match the headboard in the picture. I'd also like to try and add pink fabric or a pink paint trim to the headboard. I haven't actually seen what it looks like yet, so I don't really know what I'm working with. I definitely won't have 4 pillows on my bed, so my headboard is going to show way more than it does in this picture!

You may not know this, but I love all things French. Paris-theme in particular. I've never visited France (or anywhere in Europe for that matter...), but I would LOVE to visit someday!! Since I can't go to Paris anytime soon, I've decided to bring it to me. I went on Craiglist (check it out! I've found some really great, CHEAP stuff!) and found the most amazing Paris decorations. It cost me $50, but I think it was SO worth it because the chairs are to die for.
See what I mean?? The fabric on the chairs will match the sheets on my bedding and the decorations will go nicely with my pink, black, and white color scheme.

I still need to buy a mattress, but won't be able to until financial aid money comes in. So, I'll be using an air mattress until then. Yay me.

I'll post before and after pictures once everything is finished!

Till then,

The Final Countdown.

Well, the summer is coming to a close.
It's definitely been an interesting summer to say the least.
I'm really looking forward to heading back to school.
I head back to Harding on August 17th (yay!) at 7am (ugh).

This summer has been kinda, ridiculously crazy and I'm excited to head back to a sense of normalcy.
I have lots of great things planned for  my bedroom (blog post to follow) that I'm excited to get started!
And, of course, I'm super excited see all my lovely friends and to start classes! I'm a nerd, I know.

I love, love, love schedules and having my day planned out. I get kind of panicky when I don't know what is going to happen for the day or if something springs up unexpectedly. When I'm at school, I have my class schedule and then work goes around that and Iota Chi stuff goes around that. And then fit in a social life and studying around all that too! I like being busy though. Just not so busy that I have no time to sleep. A sleepy Antasia, is a cranky Antasia, and nobody wants to be around that! =)

Well, I need to start getting ready for work. I leave in half an hour for the cleaning company I've been working for off and on this summer.

Till next time!

Busy Bee.

Well, I've finally been able to sit down and write an actual blog post since who knows when (July 27th, if you were wondering).

I've actually done things this week, so it went by fast, instead of super slow.
Sunday, I spent the night with my friend from high school, Mirradawn! We've known each other since freshmen year. We've had our ups and downs, but we're still friends and I'm glad we are. =) We've helped each other through some rough times and I'm thankful that we've been there for each other. Anywho, we had a great night eating pho bo, watching movies, and reminiscing.
Monday, I ran errands with my parents' and then we dropped my mom off at my grandma's to spend a couple days with her. Then my dad and I grabbed a couple pizza's from Little Caesar's and watched a movie with my sister and her friend.
Tuesday, my dad, Courtny, and I drove down to Salem (gross) to drop off Solomon at my grandma's and to pick up Arianna (she's spending 10 days with us). We then went to Joseph Wood Hill Park in Portland. I forgot the name the locals' call it, but it was cool going there at sunset. There were a ton of people there.

Wednesday,  I watched Ari while my parents' ran errands for their upcoming move to China. Then, we had dinner at our friends' house, the Herrings'. They're basically amazing and we've known them for 9 wonderful years!
ThursdayI helped my dad move some of our stuff from one storage unit to the next and run a couple errands. I tried to do nothing because I had to be in Portland at 11pm to work for 4 hours at my summer cleaning job. But obviously that didn't work. I got there at 11pm and wasn't able to start work until almost 1am because the employees at Burgerville were still working! So my co-worker and I only worked for about 2 and a half hours because I had to get Courtny to work by 4:30am and where I was in Portland was 20 minutes away (not to mention Courtny's work being 10-15 minutes away).
Friday, I slept until 11:30am, got ready for the day, and then went to Portland with my dad to get Solomon from my grandma. Then, I headed over to the Herrings' to watch their kids' while they take a much needed vacation this weekend. I made chicken alfredo and corn for them (remember to never use flour as a sauce thickener. Yuck.). Then Cindi and I made chocolate chip cookies for dessert.

I don't know what we'll do Saturday or Sunday, but if it's interesting, I'll let ya'll know. I'm sure we'll do board games and play outside until lunch and then vedge for the rest of the day. We won't be going to church on Sunday (due to a lack of a car),, but there's always next week.

Hope this wasn't too boring!
